Chapter 477: Like A Wolf
Bang! A tremor occurred under Qian Jin’s feet. Some tyrannical strength rose, which faintly echoed to the pressing palm. The sky was collapsing and the earth was lifted! Everything in the middle was about to be crushed!
Using [Innumerable Shadows], Qian Jin flashed out of the cloud, and by gravity, he fell hard on the ground! But he hadn’t succeeded entirely. The impact still hit him and both his legs were pegged into the land like two posts.
After pushing Zence Matten aside, Qian Jin whacked on the patches of both sides, and by the repulsive force, he pulled himself out of the ground. Dirt was seen everywhere.
A cold blade was placed on the white neck of Hayen Brianna. Blood started to meander!
Bhang Wusheng looked at Qian Jin silently with the sword in his hand. The sudden and speedy fight ended, just like that.
Qian Jin had never thought that as a super powerhouse, Bhang Wusheng, would have to take a hostage, especially in a fight against an ordinary warrior like him! How absurd!
"Well done, boy."
Stroking the faint bloodstain on his ear, the man wasn’t irritated or raged. Instead, in his eyes, there was appreciation. "How dare you sneak up on me after you knew who I was! You have some balls but not a brain!"
Acute pains attacked Qian Jin in his legs. He might not have had to go through this if it had not been Bhang Wusheng. How unbelievable this Bandit King was! It was just some residual force, and he had been thrust into the ground. The atrocious warrior power outbreak really hurt.
"Do I have a choice?" Qian Jin cracked a helpless smile. "The woman under you knife has saved me once. She asked me for help. I can’t leave her. She would have long been dead if I wasn’t here."
"I can kill her at any time." Bhang Wusheng put some force into his wrist, and Hayen Brianna accordingly moved her head backward for fear that it might be chopped off. "This woman you want to save here turned my intelligent henchman into some crumb wolf!"
"And you, the 6th Zence prince, don’t try to move." Bhang Wusheng said in an extremely calm voice. "You see, just now that your retinue here failed the sneak attack. I don’t think you can rival with him in this aspect. Sit tight if you still want to live."
Fists clenched in rage, Zence Matten forsook the plan to open up his Warrior Dimension. Without a sneak attack, such a big shot would not be hurt a little bit even with the best Magic Conductor.
"Freeze!"
After the Demon Great Ultimate Mage calmed down, he raised the magic wand high and frozen Qian Jin within a giant ice block.
Standing inside the block, Qian Jin gently rolled his eyes. Seeing Bhang Wusheng had turned around, he crinkled into a forced smile and broke the ice by moving just his fingers. There might be a lot of things that could hurt him, but those things definitely didn’t include extreme cold or heat.
Especially after the Heart of Earthy Fire had eaten part of the Icy Flame Warrior Power, he couldn’t even feel the chilliness of the ice. Instead, he was cozy there. He had thought of another surprise attack. But unfortunately, the Bandit King had spotted him first.
"There is no use for you to kill them." Out of the ice, Qian Jin said as calmly as he could while staring into those eyes. "So you can just let them go. "
"In the Frontier..."
"Yeah, you are king and you rule this land."
In a helpless tone, Qian Jin said the man’s lines first. Having spent some time with Qian Zhanxuan, he had already figured out the mind of those big bosses. All of them, without exception, thought themselves the toughest among the stars. Every word they say was an order that no one could defy.
They didn’t care how people would view them. Just like a legendary dragon that could never care about ants’ opinions.
Whether the ants despised or worshiped the dragon, the dragon still ruled! That was why this Bandit King had held Hayen Brianna as a hostage.
It was also because the man did so that Qian Jin started to feel this king didn’t want him killed. On the contrary, the man was intrigued. He wanted to have a few words with Qian Jin, who, otherwise, would have long been slapped to death by that giant palm.
Looking at the pit that was ten meters in diameter and five meters in radius, Qian Jin frowned. This Bandit King was way out of his league and he would be doomed if the man was determined to kill him.
Raising his navy eyebrows, Bhang Wusheng was in a good mood. More often than not, people would show resentment, worry even disdain when they heard such a manner of ruling. But this young man who had interrupted him seemed to be a mind-reader! What he said pleased this bandit king.
"I never keep losers, so..."
"But that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to live." Qian Jin blurted out. Zence Matten, who stood not very far away, was one of the candidates that might ascend the throne in the future. Qian Jin knew he must save this man because they were classmates, and Zence Matten might be helpful in saving his father.
"Oh, I see! You want to ingratiate yourself with the royal members?" Bhang Wusheng measured Zence Matten from head to toe and continued. "I knew this kid! It is rumored that he and the 3rd prince are the best two choices for the Zence throne. I’m sorry to tell you, but, after today, your brother can sit back and relax."
What? The two eyebrows of Qian Jin were knitted together and there were hard feelings in his heart. If he really wanted to curry favor with someone, he would have long done it with the Snake Emperor Pam Honzi or Qian Zhanxuan.
Royal members did own supreme power in Zence Empire, so what? Qian Jin curled his lips. Yes, he had thought to support and back the royal family when he was still a child. But the idea had long perished after learning from Blake for so many years.
"What? You want to deny it?" Bhang Wusheng smiled. "Well, you can be said as a very loyal retinue which, unfortunately, can also be said as only a dog..."
"Don’t you dare to say that again." Even in front of this Frontier ruler, Qian Jin still couldn’t hold his anger in!
Astonishment flashed past Bhang Wusheng’s eyes. The young man there wasn’t pretending to be angry. He was pissed off by the words. How so? He was indeed a retinue of that prince! Interesting! Was he like a wolf? Someone that won’t be loyal to anyone like a wolf?
"There is no advantage in killing them?" Bhang Wusheng raised his head. "But it will neither do me no harm..."
"Let him and her go!" Qian Jin pointed Zence Matten and Hayen Brianna as he said. "I will work for you for five years."
Hayen Brianna was shocked! Under the metal mask, the woman was touched emotionally. Qian Jin knew this Bandit King was interested in him. So, he suggested such an offer.
Both Hayen Brianna and Zence Matten were fully aware that although Bhang Wusheng was a moody ferocious monster, he wouldn’t blame Qian Jin for that sneak attack. Instead, he would let Qian Jin trade his freedom. But why? Why did that fool choose to stay?
Zence Matten looked at Qian Jin blankly! Why would Qian Jin save him? Was it really like the Bandit King had said, to get close to the royal power?
"You? For both of them?" Bhang Wusheng threw back his head to laugh loudly and then said arrogantly with two eyes sharp like a pair of swords, "Do you mean you are of more value than the two of them combined? Do you know who that young man is? You really think you can beat a prince? Oh, I have to say, you’ve got methods in training retinues, your highness."
The man’s voice suddenly turned cold. "He even thinks of trading your life with his under such circumstance? How did you do it, taming a wolf into a dog? But you know, I’ve hated dogs for my whole life, especially those who have lost their haughtiness! Since so, you... "
"I am not his retinue!" Hearing the harsh talk, Qian Jin interrupted the Bandit King for the second time. "I know who he is! But I also know he is my classmate! He is here only because of me! He tried to help me! That’s why you have captured him!"
"Yes! He’s here only because of me!" Taking a deep breath, Qian Jin continued. "So, just take whatever you want on me!"
"On you?" Bhang Wusheng’s expression changed again. The killing sense died away and a smile crept upon: "You know, son, you might die!"
Qian Jin asked with arms akimbo. "Wouldn’t you do the same if you were me?"
A faint smile relaxed the drawn lines of Bhang Wusheng’s mouth and finally, it broke into a burst of laughter. "Hahahahaha... Interesting! Did you just compare you to me? Kid, think it over twice, you might regret it."
"About what? Can I do it, or should I do it?" Qian Jin patted himself on the shoulder. "Nothing has crushed my hard bones and I have confidence in them. For people who I love, I will do whatever I’m supposed to even if I need to handle fallen stars."
Looking blankly at Qian Jin, Bhang Wusheng shook his head at the men he brought here. They could count as wolves, but they were way below this young man! Although Qian Jin was not a bandit, he was proud enough of himself that it was hard to overlook.
