Chapter 100 - Little Match Girl
She could feel those hands squishing her breasts against its grope. She could only feel her entirety tingle as pleasure seeped through.
\'This isn\'t right!\'
She shot her eyes open. But there was no one around her to grab her breasts and neither were her clothes pulled down.
"Ha…," she had got scared at the sudden influx of weird thoughts. She caught her breath as her chest heaved up and down.
"There is no one Verona, it\'s just you," she reminded herself but somehow that very statement sounded extremely lonely.
*Smack* *Smack*
Slutty noises still dominated the room as Klautz and Selena made love to each other.
All Verona craved for was to a bit of warmth but the stupid noises in the room had led her to imagine some really weird things. It had soiled her thought flow! It was as if her own thoughts were out of her control!
That is why the man in her imaginations suddenly started acting weird. She would prefer him to be someone who was there to accompany her when she was down, not a wolf in sheep\'s skin!
\'What was I thinking?\' She thought as she hid her face within her legs which had a visible blush.
Her eyes drifted to the open book in front of her but alas her vision was turning hazy.
"So cold," She complained as she rubbed her shoulders to warm them up. Her body was out cold making her shiver. Her imaginations filled with warmth and love had led her to forget the state she was in… it had made the perfect replacement for the warmth that she desperately needed right now to stay alive.
Sometimes imagining being healthy is the best drug for a disease. So was for her, but now that blissful dream had come to an end.
Verona turned her head and stared at the roof above. Above this roof was a swamp forest with swamp waters spanning across several acres, possibly the whole island.
Water has a high heat capacity. It absorbs all the heat that the sun above delivers, not letting any of it pass underground. No wonder this room never experienced any sort of heating even in the day let alone at night. It was too cold here.
Verona rubbed herself as she tried to warm herself up. She just had her top and her jeans on her, nothing fancy to warm her up. She was like the little Match Girl shivering in the cold and only had her imaginations to warm herself up. Just like the little girl she had no one to rely on and just herself.
She curled herself to a ball. That felt a little more comfortable than before.
It was then… that she noticed a burning flame in the vision of her eyes. The orange flames reflected in her blue pupils. Everything else was blurry but the flame seemed really warm. It was like the little match girl had lit up her last match stick.
"What is that?" she asked herself. Her mind was wary but her body was not that cautious as it crawled towards it on all fours.
A piece of cloth flew and fell on her face without a moment\'s notice blocking her field of vision.
"Mhm," she squeaked as she removed the cloth from her face. Her vision grew back to normal as she saw Klautz standing in front of her with a flaming torch in his hands.
"Wrap up," Klautz whispered. Verona could only blink in confusion. But once she saw the shawl Klautz had on himself he realized it was similar to the one she was holding in her hands. Even this shawl looked damn warm to her who was only thin clothes.
On the brink of an eye, she wrapped it up around her shoulders. It was then she realized that it had a weird texture to it. And why wouldn\'t it be? It was made of monster skin and fur.
She felt a little bit of the cold fleeting away as she wrapped the cloth around herself. It wasn\'t perfect but it was better than nothing. But Verona couldn\'t help but pull the shawl closer to cover her breasts to drive the cold away all the more. Alas the shawl wasn\'t big enough to cover her plentiful chest.
"Come with me, I have something to show you," Klautz whispered. Verona nodded without thinking, she was more worried about other things.
Klautz stepped away and Verona followed. They didn\'t stop until they reached somewhere with a little more space, the corner of the room where there were no book racks. Klautz took a peek in his inventory and took out something strange… at least Verona\'s jaw fell down when she saw it.
It was a humanoid structure but there was nothing human about it! For it was constructed from bones and monster skin and tendons. If it was made of human bones it might have resembled a skeleton but it used beast bones. It had a tusk in place of a spine and no rib cage instead the tusk was wrapped by several layers of monster skin and tendons. It was around 2 metres in height giving it the appearance of a giant and it had an ape\'s skull for its head.
"What is this thing?" Verona couldn\'t help but spout out as she blinked several times taking a step back.
"Don\'t sweat the small stuff!"
It was a puppet Klautz had crudely made out of monster materials.
This is the reason why Klautz was butchering every monster that it came across! Not only for the meat but for every part; in hope that he would one day have the puppeteer class and create puppets for his own to command.
But alas! That day had never come. Instead, Verona was the one who had got her hands on the class.
