Chapter 346: The Feeling of Being Proposed To

Chapter 346: The Feeling of Being Proposed To

A meal and a movie was enough. What else had she plotted? How long has she been planning it for?

She perked up. "Wear your pants quickly," she ordered. She crawled around to get her clothes and quickly pulled them on. Though crumpled, she looked flushed and excited.

He watched her as he slowly put on his pants and bounced up to his feet.

"Where to?" he asked.

"To our bedroom! Your present awaits." She gave him a small wink and then skipped away. Bewildered but drawn to her, he shadowed her movement. With soft eyes, he followed her to their bedroom.

"Where did you hide the ring? I tried to re-organize my shelves a few days ago, so I must have come across it and not realized," he said under his breath.

"You couldn\'t find it even if you tried. I got the gift today," she informed him.

"Isn\'t that a bit too lackluster for how grand you have made out my birthday to be?" he teased. "Don\'t tell me… You forgot to get me a present, so you ran out at the last minute to buy something."

She smacked his hand. "Absolutely not. The timing worked out perfectly and I had a gift for you just for your birthday," she gave him a brilliant smile alongside her words.

He looked at her curiously as she moved to the purse she had taken to work that morning. She pulled out two boxes from it and showed them to him.

He quirked his brow in question. Did she get him a cuff or something? He wondered. But he waited. He couldn\'t imagine what would be inside those boxes.

"Can I take a guess?" he said suddenly.

"I\'m sure you wouldn\'t be able to even if you tried." And then she thought about it. "Well, you might know what the gift is, but you will never guess how precious it is."

He bit his lip. "I won\'t guess, then. Just show me the present." He paused. "I can\'t think of a better present than the meal and movie we just saw. I already had a perfect birthday," he complimented.

She grinned. "I know. But I am a woman who strives for perfection. I must do better than perfect so that you can never be satisfied if not you are with me." What a confident little shark, he thought to himself as he waited for her to reveal what was in the box.

She gingerly took one box in her hand and peered inside. But he was faster, he peeked around and saw a very feminine-looking ring. He blinked. It didn\'t look like anything he had seen before.

"Did you get yourself a ring for my birthday?" he asked with a chuckle. He couldn\'t take a good look at the ring, because she snapped the lid shut and glared at him.

"Be a little more patient. I am just seeing which one is yours."

He smirked. "You got yourself a gift on my birthday. Because we are husband and wife… we are one soul and body? So my birthday is your birthday and you bought yourself something nice?"

Qian Meng rolled her eyes. "Just you wait. I will make you eat your words!" She opened the other box and pulled out something from inside it.

He couldn\'t even blink as she flipped the box over her shoulder. It landed on the bed. His eyes traveled to it, but then it quickly snapped back to her as she slowly knelt on one knee.

Mo Qingchen finally knew what people felt when they were proposed to. He suddenly felt that Qian Meng had missed out on this feeling because he was an unromantic ass.

"What are you doing?" he asked, almost frightened.

She looked at him with amusement.

"I know we are already married but you don\'t have anything to show for it. You are someone who likes to show off your relationship with your wife discreetly, so I got you something that you will like." Then she stopped short. "I guessed what you would like it, but if you don\'t—"

"Stop and just show me," he demanded.

"Extend your hand forward, Mr. Mo," she teased him. He did as he was asked and felt a bubble of joy as he extended his hand to her. He knew what he had gotten for her. This was their wedding ring. The one he had told her to design. There would only be one pair in the whole universe.

He took his hand in hers and gingerly slid in the ring she had created with her own two hands into his finger.

She stood up finally, watching him appraise it with a blank look.

"I know it doesn\'t look like much, but it has deep significance," she finally said. She was a woman who was confident in her designs and how beautiful they looked. But she couldn\'t understand from his expression if he liked it or not.

"The ring is made from Damascus Steel. It was and still is used to make the best swords on our planet. I used it, treated it, and made it so that it gleams black-blue and purple like moonstone and opal. When you look at it, you don\'t think it is special but in reality, it emits the same aura as you do. I weighed and balanced the design so that you wouldn\'t be imbalanced when you typed fast at work. And I carved it so that it reflects the design of my own ring."

He looked a little surprised. "Carved the design of your ring?" he asked.

She nodded. "I carved the pattern and proportional depth the ring could create if your ring acted as a mold for my ring. So, the pattern of the stones on my wedding ring is embedded in yours. When kept side by side, it looks like they fit together perfectly."

The explanation was simple, but he still didn\'t understand. To help him along, she pulled out her own ring and slipped it in without giving him a chance to protest.

He looked at it with wide eyes and clasped her hand to bring it closer to his face.

"What stones did you use?" he glanced at his ring and saw that the color scheme matched perfectly.

She smirked. "Stunned by how brilliant it is?" she asked.
