Chapter 113: The Person Asmodai was Looking For

“Oh, alright,” Yu Luocheng replied. “Where are you?”

“In the E-Sports Club.”

“I’m on my way.”

Yu Luocheng walked into the university compound, looking around to see greenery, flower beds, and university buildings. He grimaced as he glanced around again.

Damn it, how could he have forgotten how to get to the club?

“Senior, how do I get to the E-Sports Club?” Yu Luocheng inquired directly to a girl nearby him.

“Pass the building over that side.”

“Thank you. You’re sure it’s that side?”

“Why would I lie to you about that?” The senior responded, her tone obviously unhappy with his doubt.

“It’s just…there was another senior who directed me to the total opposite direction of the entrance just now, so…” Yu Luocheng hastily tried to explain.

The girl wearing a plaid skirt giggled a little at his explanation and smiled in amusement.

“Don’t worry, big sister won’t lie to you. Should I give you my number so that you can scold me if the directions are wrong?”

Yu Luocheng nodded his head quickly. Unexpectedly, by asking for directions, he had chosen a senior who was dressed delightfully cool and pretty looking. What he didn’t expect was for her to offer him her number without him asking.

‘Ah, you can’t help it when you are handsome.’ Yu Luocheng mused, rubbing his chin.

The directions given this time was right, as Yu Luocheng successfully reached the club. Thinking for a while, Yu Luocheng dialed the number he was given previously, wanting to express his gratitude to the senior. Perhaps inviting her to a meal or movie as a courtesy would be good.

“Sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service…”

Listening to the message he got, Yu Luocheng scowled again.

D*mn it! Did he look like the type of person who would fake getting lost just to get a girl’s number?!

There were already three people present in the club as Yu Luocheng walked in, and they seemed to be Year 3 students like Yang Ying.

“This is Yu Luocheng, my future brother-in-law, and a highly-skilled player!” Yang Ying boasted as he introduced Yu Luocheng.

Apart from Yang Ying, there was another boy and a girl. The boy was fairly tall with his hair sleeked back, wearing a pink shirt and a tie around his neck. Overall his presentation was good. The girl was dressed more casually with a plain shirt. Her looks were average, with a small button nose and plump lips.

“These two are the vice presidents of the club, Xiao Jia and Zheng Xia,” Yang Ying explained. “Xiao Jia’s rank points is 2,190 points, which is the highest in our Shanghai University right now. He’s the highly skilled player that I was talking about on the train.”

The corner of Xiao Jia’s mouth curved upwards, seemingly proud of this achievement. Yu Luocheng didn’t have much time to increase his rank before the term started, so his rank points in the Ionia server was just 1,900 points.

There were a lot of highly skilled players in the Ionia server, and their strength in other servers would be around the same. Having above 2,100 points in the Ionia server really proves that you are very skilled at the game!

“I met Yu Luocheng through a tournament match as opponents, he was playing Support,” Yang Ying said, patting Yu Luocheng’s shoulder. “That was supposed to be an easy match to win, but he almost turned the game around and damn, that match really gave me the chills.”

In the last few seconds of the Lecheng Tournament match, Yang Ying was freaking out. Even playing in the LoL National University League wasn’t as stressful nor as scary as that particular game.

“Hahaha.” Xiao Jia laughed haughtily but said nothing.

Yu Luocheng ignored Xiao Jia’s arrogance. He was wearing branded clothing, so you could tell that he was from a well-off family background. Having a little bit of skill was something he would be proud of.

“Zheng Xia, enroll him into our club as a new member,” Yang Ying said.

“He has to pass the initial training first,” Zheng Xia replied.

“It’s alright, just put his name down first. This guy’s a bit lazy, can’t let him get away.” Yang Ying retorted.

Yu Luocheng smiled bitterly, he had already decided not to participate in the professional leagues, yet he still couldn’t escape from this kind of university club. Attending university was to experience fulfilling student life, and many said that attending it was not to attend classes, but to attend to more pressing desires. Heh, in order to advance, you would definitely need to participate in some activities outside of classes!

After that short meeting, Yu Luocheng returned to his dormitory while the president and two vice presidents of the E-Sports Club remained in the club room. Zheng Xia spared a glance at Yang Ying.

“You’re giving a spot to a freshman who just played a little during summer break. Don’t you think you’re being too hasty?”

The E-Sports Club was a hot topic in the university right now, having about 500 members and enjoying a lot of privileges. For example, they could use the internet and computers here during the day for free. The configurations and environment were good. Normally you would need to pay about three to four yuan in an internet cafe outside and you would spend about twenty yuan a day to play games.

Freshmen were not allowed to bring their own laptops so most of them liked to frequent the club to play E-Sports. More importantly, the atmosphere here was good, unlike the internet cafes outside which were noisy and messy.

“That kid is talented. We won’t regret letting him in.” Yang Ying replied.

“Oh, and here I thought it was just because he is your future brother-in-law,” Xiao Jia said as he raked his hand through his hair.

“Please, do I look like that kind of person? Ah, just trust me that he can play well. You will see in the future.” Yang Ying said confidently.

“Da Qing is switching to Liberal Arts this year so there’s an empty spot on the reserve team,” Zheng Xia said. “We’ll let him fill that spot then.”

“Reserve team?” Yang Ying snorted. “He has enough skills to join the starter team!”

“Yang Ying, we don’t even know his strength. He’s a freshman, and joining the reserve team will already raise questions. We have to take it one step at a time.” Zheng Xia explained patiently. “Also, the starter team has permanent members already, or do you want to kick Gu Ding out?”

Yang Ying thought about the logic behind her words, knowing that it was true. With only his words to rely on, Xiao Jia and Zheng Xia wouldn’t be able to believe that Yu Luocheng was such a skilled player. No matter, they would see for themselves later on.

But letting Yu Luocheng join the reserve team would be such a waste. To be honest, Yang Ying was looking forward to having such an unbelievable Support on his team. It would feel even better than the tournament match the other day!

“Oh right, can you guess who I met during summer vacation?” Xiao Jia recalled suddenly, his smile widening.

“Who?” Yang Ying asked.

“Take a guess,” Xiao Jia replied, smiling mysteriously.

“Shit, how would I know!”

“Which is the team that we admire the most?” Xiao Jia hinted.

Both Zheng Xia and Yang Ying faltered, thinking that it couldn’t be. Shanghai University’s LoL team was not a professional team. The majority of their play styles were modeled after some of the top domestic professional teams, including their lineups, routines, and pace making.

The team by DF Club that was the top team in the country—Team Daemon!

“Hehe, it’s Asmodai!” Xiao Jia revealed.

Zheng Xia and Yang Ying’s mouths were wide open, and it was big enough to stuff a watermelon in it!

“As you both know, the internet at my house is Netcom. When I was ranking in Server 3, I met his smurf and he accepted my friend request. We even talked a little.” Xiao Jia explained.

“Are you for real! You actually had such a stroke of luck!” Yang Ying exclaimed.

“Why would I lie to you? I can even show you,” Xiao Jia said.

It was difficult to add a professional team member. Even if you did, although it wasn’t guaranteed that you would play together, you could still spectate their games, and you could learn a lot by using that function!

“What did the both of you talk about?” Zheng Xia asked excitedly.

DF team had always been an idol team admired by Shanghai University’s E-Sports Club and they had always wanted to meet them in person, but they had always been such a mysterious and elusive team. Even if they were found, it was not certain that they could become good friends.

This is why, for Xiao Jia to be able to add Asmodai as a friend, it was something to brag about!

“He said that you can still find the highest number of skilled players in Server 1, but there are also many in other regions.” Xiao Jia said. “He also said I played well, haha!”

“Does he play often with that account?” Yang Ying asked.

“Doesn’t seem like it. He said he was looking for somebody online that day but he couldn’t find him. He was bored so he played a few games. My luck was good, once I saw his few matches, I knew that that was his smurf, so I added him immediately.” Xiao Jia elaborated.

“Man, this is great news for us. If you have the chance, make sure you invite him to come to our university. That would be awesome! Oh, who was the person he was looking for anyway?” Yang Ying paused in his excitement, curiosity in his voice.

“A few months back when he was playing in Server 3 with Anubis in a premade team, he met a Support player who was great. He wanted to get to know him, but the person didn’t accept his friend request for the longest time.” Xiao Jia said. “He noticed that this person was online recently from his profile, so he thought he would wait a few days to see if he would come back on. But after waiting for those few days, he didn’t have any luck. He suspects it’s another professional player’s smurf account.”
