Chapter 220 Flash Sale-1
" Ho, you look much better in person." William Astor was unfazed. But Mr Newhouse panicked. It was completely different from what they had planned.
" How did you know about us? Even your father is unaware of his existence." He asked.
" Seriously? That flimsy performance would be enough to fool others, but now me."
" But-"
" A questionable secretary who didn\'t even verify our identity, no matter how much she was paid, it was impossible for her to possess a Cartier Secret watch, which costs upward of a hundred grand. The floor design was completely off, every other floor had two large offices, but this one had only one.
Moreover, no matter how naive your guest is, they could easily recognize one of the prominent lawyers in the industry. Is that right, Mr Terry, or should I say, Benjamin Locke?"
Was it really that oblivious? They were stumped hearing his theory. Darren clapped and cheered after seeing a great show. He felt like he was on a mystery thriller movie set.
" That was a great man! Really you never fail to surprise me!" He grabbed Samuel by the shoulder and began shaking him.
" Hey! Stop, fuck; I told you to be quiet, right? Hey." Samuel started struggling. Getting hugged by a dude was very embarrassing; in the end, he had to knock him lightly to curb his excitement.
" Hahahaha, good, I see your reputation is not just for show. I had heard plenty of stories, but those pale compared to the real deal." The old man was amused instead of getting angry.
" But sir, he didn\'t have to break the goddamn room. What if you got hurt?" Unlike the old man, Newhouse was not letting it slide that easily.
" What? Do you expect me to walk down and take that special elevator to get up here? I don\'t have that much free time. You have already wasted enough of it by making me wait." Samuel\'s gaze was fierce. Over the years, he had seen plenty of such individuals.
If one were too lenient with them, they would walk all over you without a care in the world. It was better to show them their mistake to remind them of their place.
" This brat!" Newhouse was furious. Due to his wealth, he hardly experiences such harsh words.
" Stop! I don\'t want a hostile relationship. I am sorry for deceiving you but understand from my place too. I can\'t trust anyone with my secret. We have a lot to lose if it gets out." The old man bowed slightly to show his sincerity.
" Father.."
" It\'s fine. Besides, it is only a piece of wood; we can easily replace it." He said with a chuckle. Others failed to notice, but someone capable of finding and destroying this wall in one kick was not normal.
" Old friend, don\'t lose your temper. Young people are a little rash; you shouldn\'t take it to heart." He also persuaded Newhouse.
" Rash? Well, forget about it. Tell me, why the theatrics?" Samuel was losing patience. He had other plans, so he refused to waste any more daylight.
" David, can you leave us alone for a moment. Lori, Benji, come sit down. I want to hear this."
David, the \'public\' president of WB Group, left while the other two people sat down beside the Old man Astor. It was not like David had no power, but he was not included on the Board of Directors yet.
" I will say it once and for all. I can\'t sell you \'Spectrum.\' That\'s all." The old man\'s voice was solemn. It was like he stated his last wish and was ready for retribution.
" What Spectrum?" Lori exclaimed.
" I thought Rothschild were a noble family, but seeing him covert Spectrum. How despicable!" Benjamin was also shocked. It was the first time he had heard about it.
" That\'s what I said earlier." Newhouse found new allies.
" Silence! You shouldn\'t disrespect our guests, no matter what! Is that how I raised you." The old man smacked the table and said to Lori.
" So, she is the daughter! Blending with the normal crowd, just as expected!" Darren said to Samuel in a low voice. Meanwhile, Samuel kept listening to their bullshit.
" Sorry, I failed to introduce them. This is my daughter, Lori, and this man is my son-in-law Benjamin. I am sorry for their rude behaviour."
" Father, It\'s not your fault. I was excited to meet the famous Rothschild, but there is nothing good about him except his looks!" Lori pilled more insults.
" Honey, what are you saying?" Benjamin was worried about something else. Why the hell is his wife mentioning his looks?
While they were busy insulting him, Samuel was fuming inside. What was going on? Spectrum? He had never heard of it. Did his subordinates do something wrong? A million questions were floating around in his head.
" Shut the hell up! Old man, Although I overlooked your indiscretion, you are taking it too far! Why are you making me feel like a bad guy?" Samuel roared. The situation was getting out of hand. Everyone became alert after his loud shout.
" Didn\'t you come here to buy my communication company? I am telling you again, I am not selling it."
The company he was talking about was Charter Communications, Inc., an American telecommunications and mass media company with services branded as Spectrum. With over 32 million customers in 41 states, It was the second-largest cable operator in the United States by subscribers and the third-largest pay TV operator.
It was also the fifth-largest telephone provider based on the number of residential lines.
" I am just here for the photo shoot for the upcoming Harry Potter movie, \' the half blood prince\'."
" Ah, Is that so? I am sorry-"
" No! I don\'t want your apology. You have been doing it for a while now; first, you apologize, then start to insult me. I had enough of it!" Samuel appeared furious. As soon as Darren saw him stand up, he grabbed his friend from doing something rash.
It would be fine to hit enemies, but hitting an elderly because of a misunderstanding was a step too far.
" Hey, hold on, man! Don\'t do something stupid. Calm down! Let\'s talk like civilised people." He kept him pinned.
" Let go of me! I have had enough. These people are truly vicious, accusing me of extortion and insulting my family\'s honour! I might as well do it!" Seeing Samuel\'s angry eyes, the Old man shuddered.
He was ready to let go of his pride if it could subdue Samuel\'s wrath!
