Chapter 172 Cat Dad Aggros Everybody
Chapter 172 – Cat Dad Aggros Everybody
At the bottom of the ocean, two massive golden eyes and expanded black pupils stared straight at Nian. From a rough estimation, each eye was at least several kilometers wide.
Each eye was bigger than the mouth of the Calamity Anglerfish!
Xiaomao had prayed for a miracle, but this new helper’s existence was beyond his expectation. He didn’t know what possessed him. Xiaomao couldn’t help but meowed like a kitten as if he was asking for help. His eyes were moist, and he shed tears.
“Munya…”
Inwardly, Xiaomao thought, ‘I might win an Oscar with this.’
Unbeknownst to Xiaomao, Mimir and Taotie could read his mind. They broke a sweat, wondering if the cat was insane. Even though they didn’t know Meowmeow, they could sense the terrifying strength of the cat god, and they didn’t want Xiaomao to play a trick on his helper.
It was too late. Meowmeow saw the tear of a fellow cat.
Mimir and Taotie’s expressions were distorted, worrying about the aftermath. They understood their position that higher beings could easily read their minds just like how they read Xiaomao’s thoughts. They hoped that Meowmeow wouldn’t be offended by the silly act.
Betraying their expectations, Meowmeow’s eyes widened when he saw the crying catopus. The two big round eyes were bloodshot, and a thousand small eyes were opened, glaring at Nian.
MUNYAAAAAA!!
Meowmeow was enraged. He bellowed.
‘It actually works?’
Mimir and Taotie were speechless. Their expression turned into a pokerface meme.
Nian’s expression turned ugly. The caracal cat released Xiaomao, turned around, and vanished.
RUMBLE
It was too late for Nian. One of Meowmeow large tentacles extended from the abyss and pierced through the invisible body of the caracal cat in the sea.
“The sea is my domain, munya! You’re not going anywhere!”
The tentacle coiled around Nian. Spikes came out from the tentacle’s skin, and the tentacle’s sucker transformed into mouths with a thousand small fangs. They bit and tore Nian’s skin alive, yet the caracal cat didn’t look perturbed.
Nian’s body turned into liquid and blinked, teleporting out of the sea.
He looked back and scoffed, “I’ve marked your position. Once I regroup with my other clones and my real body, you’re dead, Sentinel!”
“Running away, munya? As I said, you’re not going anywhere! Even if you’re just a clone, I can still nom-nom you, munya!”
Meowmeow pursued. The massive body of the cathulhu emerged from the sea, revealing his majestic appearance near a player’s town for the first time.
But a second later, his body shrunk and became a regular orange cat. He left behind an afterimage and disappeared along with Nian, who also flew away at light speed.
BOOM
Because of their inhuman speed and strength, the sea churned and hollowed as if something heavy split the sea in half, causing the seawater to surge upward and rain down upon the nearby area.
Xiaomao got bumped by Meowmeow, but he was unharmed. He tumbled in the sea current for a while before he managed to swim back to the surface.
He looked around. However, he couldn’t find either Nian or Meowmeow anymore.
While floating in the sea, Xiaomao pulled out a handkerchief and wiped the sweaty fur on his forehead. He let out a long sigh.
“I’ve survived, munya.”
“Yeah, you survive, alright.”
Mimir leaped and walked on top of the sea surface. He stopped near Xiaomao and pulled him out of the water.
Xiaomao purred and turned to Mimir. But when he noticed that Mimir looked a lot older than before, Xiaomao was stunned.
“What happened to you, munya?”
Mimir bitterly smiled, “I sowed a good karma. Nothing to worry about.”
“???”
Unable to understand Mimir, Xiaomao tilted his head.
Mimir snickered and patted Xiaomao, consoling him, “It’s alright. This is just a visual side effect of my ultimate skill. Once I recover my mana, I can regain my youth.”
“I see. That’s a relief, munya.”
Mimir glanced at Siren City, which was hit by Taotie’s skill. Most buildings were blown away, leaving with broken walls and debris. Even the church’s ruin was leveled to the ground.
However, a glowing crystal stood out from the rest. The pylon tower that Mimir used to guard for years now rotated and floated in midair, releasing Life Qi everywhere. In addition, many NPCs were floating inside bubbles, which were floating toward the pylon crystal as if it was drawing them closer.
Mimir began counting the number of survivors and the casualty. Strangely, he hadn’t found any injured NPCs. Only players got caught in the blast and died.
“I see. So Mao Miaomiao’s pylon tower can protect townsmen. That’s why Yuan Shaoqing and Pangu Church competed to keep this.”
While Mimir was checking the pylon crystal, Taotie came to see them. When he noticed that Mimir had been staring at the pylon crystal in a daze, he also admired the scene.
“If I remember correctly, isn’t that Mao Miaomiao’s legacy?”
Overhearing the keyword, Xiaomao also turned toward the pylon crystal and continued to eavesdrop on the conversation.
“Say, I heard that Taoties, Hunduns, Qiangqis, and Taowus fought with Mao Miaomiao before the great reset. Did you fight him, too?” Asked Mimir.
“Nah, I ain’t stupid enough to die a dog’s death. At that time, I was only a kid. All those warmongering fools blindly believed in Hongjun’s propaganda and chased after Mao Miaomiao. You can guess what happened.”
“My condolence to your race.”
Xiaomao was interested in the topic. He interjected, “What happened before the great reset and the fight, munya?”
Taotie smirked. He gazed at the pylon crystal, reminiscing the old events.
“I didn’t join the fight, but I heard about it from my seniors. At that time, Mao Miaomiao offended so many gods and immortals that they turned entire universe upside down to hunt him down. They cornered him at the Dark Forbidden Zone, the home of Adam and Eden Garden Sect. At that time… oh, shit. Did I talk too much?”
Mimir bitterly smiled and glanced at Xiaomao. He stared at the cat for a minute before he revealed a strange smile.
“It’s fine. Actually, someone has blessed him. I can’t read his karma anymore. I doubt you will harm his karma if you tell him everything.”
Taotie was surprised. He inspected Xiaomao again and laughed.
“You’re right! Damn brat! Who blessed you? You hide your karma?”
“…”
Xiaomao gulped. He knew the answer, but his instinct told him not to reveal the name of Mu-Nyang to these people even though they were trustworthy allies.
He shook his head, “He’s… an enigmatic entity.”
“What’s his name? Maybe, he’s someone we know,” Mimir was interested.
“Mihaly Dumitru Margareta Corneliu Leopold Blanca Karol Aeon Ignatius Raphael Maria Niketas A. Shilage, munya.”
Mimir: “…”
Taotie: “…”
Xiaomao snickered. Somehow, he started to like this name.
Mimir and Taotie pursed their lips. They tried to read Xiaomao’s mind.
But as they were prying into Xiaomao’s memory and thoughts by looking into the latter’s eyes, they stumbled into a wall. Somehow or something blocked their access to Xiaomao’s memory and thoughts.
They saw a white silhouette of a cat, staring directly at their souls.
“No spying, munya!”
“!!!”
Both Mimir and Taotie pulled back their consciousness from Xiaomao’s eyes. They sweated profusely as if they knew who they had seen.
“Right. I should have known,” Mimir bitterly smiled.
“Yeah, we should have known. This kid is Mao Miaomiao’s son. There’s only one entity that can mingle with his family without offending him.”
“That guy, right?”
“Yup.”
Mimir and Taotie repeatedly nodded at each other while Xiaomao looked at them in confusion. He wondered what they had learned about.
Suddenly, Mimir and Taotie looked up. They grabbed Xiaomao and teleported to Wellberboy.
.
In the sky, a large flying sword approached Wellberboy. The passengers were small flies that they could easily squash, but the karmas of these girls were connected to another dangerous organization and god.
The sword was parked near Wellerboy. A young woman in Valkyrie walked toward the bow of her flying sword and introduced herself.
“I’m Battlefield Warlord, and I’m the master of Valkyrie Guild. If possible, we would like to board your ship so that we could bring these children back home…”
Wei Zhi recited what Joan had told her to speak. But when her eyes noticed a certain catopus in Mimir’s arms, her expression changed.
“Aw, so cute!”
“AHEM!”
Joan coughed. She whispered, “Master, please mind your manner. That old man and the lion are immortals. Please be courteous.”
“Ah… sorry.”
Wei Zhi coughed and adjusted her voice.
.
Xiaomao glanced at the name of Wei Zhi. He inwardly laughed at her.
While Xiaomao was holding his breath, he checked the condition of his crewmates. Fortunately, Lucky, James, Shepherd, and others were still alive though the ship was on the verge of crumbling down.
Taotie looked at Wei Zhi and glanced at the six spirits behind her. He clicked his tongue.
“Damn Asgard.”
“Mhm,” Mimir let out a short sigh as if he was disgusted by something.
Noticing the seniors’ discontentment, Xiaomao got curious. He was aware that Asgard was an NPC country that Odin, aka another god-like being, was governing, this kingdom never interfered or invaded Earth.
He wondered why Mimir and Taotie hated them.
“What’s wrong with Asgard, munya?”
Mimir and Taotie frowned, “You don’t know?”
“Don’t know what?”
Mimir and Taotie bitterly smiled. They whispered, “Mao Miaomiao did a number on Olympus. He killed several gods there, including Uranus and Gaea.”
“And?”
They sighed in unison, “Gaea was the patron of Odin. He accidentally and indirectly offended Asgard, but I don’t know the detail. But one thing is for sure, Odin joined Hongjun and Pangu before the great reset, but they didn’t get to fight Mao Miaomiao. I’m sure he’s still pissed since Gaea was like a mother to Odin.”
“…”
“That’s why you might be in trouble, kitty. They hate your father, so they might hate you, too.”
Xiaomao had the urge to complain out loud.
‘I offended Pangu, Nian, and Yuan Shaoqing in the game world. I also offended PLA and CCP in the real world, but I’m fine with that. Now, you told me that my father offended gods, and they are my enemies by default?! WHAT?!’
Xiaomao lost count how many NPCs and people he aggroed. His future looked bleak.
