The Devil's Harem

Chapter 71 - Jolly Tuning, Grandma Flores And Alex

Chapter - 71

When Alex got off of the taxi, it had started to get dark. Paying his fare, he was about to hop his way to his house when he decided to have a look at his bike first. Jumping on one leg, Alex made his way to Margaret\'s fence to peek if his bike was there, and there it was, parked on the doorway to Margaret\'s home. Finally, something good has happened, otherwise, the day was nothing but torture for him, but then he remembered Annie, the little angel and the sourness on his face turned into a smile.

"Mrs Flores... Mrs Flores," Alex called out for their housekeeper as soon as he walked into the house. He didn\'t have much hope, but he still called out for her.

"What is it? Why are you screaming your lungs out first thing returning home?" Mrs Flore\'s voice came out from the kitchen.

"Can you get me an ice pack first?" He requested her.

"Oh dear, what happened to you?" Mrs Flores asked when she came out of the kitchen and saw Alex limping on one leg.

"I just had a small accident, nothing serious. I need the ice pack to keep the swelling down," Alex told her.

"You go wait in the living room. I will bring the ice pack," Mrs Flores said but stopped in her tracks, "No... no... wait, I will help you there," Mrs Flores said, changing her mind.

"I can walk on my oww...n, easy… easy, Mrs Flores," Mrs Flores almost dragged him to the living room.

"Ohh... sorry, we will do it slowly, then".

Mr Flores helped Alex move to the living room. She helped him settle on the couch and brought a stool to keep his leg on that. After settling Alex, she went to the kitchen to get the ice pack for him.

"So, what happened to you?" Mrs Flores asked from the kitchen.

"Nothing much," Alex shrugged, "I just jumped in front of a car to save a little girl," Alex said with a smug on his face.

"Really? How is the girl? Did she get hurt too?" Mrs Flores asked as she walked out of the kitchen with the ice pack.

"Not really. She was alright. Even I would have escaped with just a scratch on my arm," Alex said as he took the ice pack from her and showed Mrs Flores his arm that was red with blood, "But I think the car grazed my ankle when I jumped to avoid it," Alex then explained to Mrs Flores the events that transpired as he placed the ice pack just above the brace on his ankle.

Just as Alex placed the ice pack, he felt a stinging pain there. He closed his eyes, trying to endure it, and it took some time for the pain to gradually vanish.

"Hopefully, you are alright, and I am sure your parents won\'t be that angry with you this time," Mrs Flores said as she listened to Alex sitting in front of him.

"I am not too sure about that. They have to listen to me first but knowing them, I doubt that they would be patient enough," Alex laughed as he made fun of Martha and George with Mrs Flores.

"Well, that\'s true. Do you want me to stir up something for you to eat?" Mrs Flores asked as she stood up to leave.
"Nah... I am fine," Alex refused. He just wanted to laze around and watch some TV. Too bad there was no Manchester Game anytime soon, otherwise, it would have been the perfect way to pass time.

"I will be in the kitchen. If you need something, just let me know," Mrs Flores said and left the living room.

Alex nodded, and after Mrs Flores left, switched on the TV. There was nothing that caught his eye, and he was surfing through the channels when he sniffed the aroma of the food Mrs Flores was making.

"Mrs Flores use some more cloves in making the curry, and don\'t forget to garnish it with coriander leaves," Alex shouted to let Mrs Flores hear.

"Yes, Mr Chef. Why don\'t you come here and do it yourself?" Mrs Flores was sarcastic as ever.

"You are one lazy housekeeper, aren\'t you? And don\'t call me that. You are still an iota better than me," Alex said, chuckling. Though he asked her not to praise him, on the contrary, he kind of liked it.

"Why not? You are good enough to open your own restaurant. I don\'t know why you are running around and working for someone else," Mrs Flores said from the kitchen.

"I cook only for the family, Mrs Flores, no one else," Alex told her.

"Whatever, but you will certainly be a good househusband". She said. Alex could feel the suppressed laughter in her words.

"Do you have a daughter you want me to marry?" Alex asked.

"I wish I did, but I don\'t. Otherwise, I would have long set you up with her," Mrs Flores said, "But I do have a couple of relatives looking for a young lad for their daughters. Want me to forward your number to them?" Mrs Flores asked.

"I don\'t mind meeting them on a blind date," Alex said but then remembered about Susan, "But do give me a few days to think about it," Alex told Mrs Flores.

"Ohh...ho... So there is someone you are eyeing for. How far have you gotten with her? Holding hands? Kiss? Or the final base?"

"Haha... Very funny. You should act your age, Grandma Flores. And why are you not going home? You leave early on other days," Alex said. She was quite a tease, Mrs Flores.

"Looks like I hit quite a sour note here. Well, you will have to bear with me until your parents are back," Mrs Flores said as she came to the living room, "What if the baby here needs some pampering?"

"I don\'t need a babysitter," Alex said grumpily.

"Hehehe... Let\'s say you don\'t. But I want to be here for my own satisfaction, alright?" Mrs Flores said as she ruffled his hair.

"If that\'s the case, then it\'s fine". Alex said, and with his arms crossed, sat there, enjoying her ruffling. Though Alex said he didn\'t want a babysitter. He certainly didn\'t want to be alone. He was just acting like a tsundere.
