Spending My Retirement In A Game

Chapter 380 - King Golem

"The tunnel is aobut 200 Meters long, and there’s about 50 golems in there..." He pointed out with a sigh, before Eisen shrugged and laughed a bit.

"Well, that’s going to help everyone level up quite a lot, isn’t it?" Eisen asked, "We were already prepared for a fight, so let’s go ahead and just get started." He suggested, before the group slowly stepped into the tunnel, swiftly taking care of the first Golem that they encountered right in front of the entrance.

Using the tactic that Eisen came up with, Brody used his-monkey stick and tried to push it into the center of the Golem’s chest before dodging anything that it might want to do in retaliation before placing the drill onto its chest. Immediately the drill reacted and bored into the Golem’s body, opening up a good path to work with before climbing back out, and Ranger then swiftly shot one of his large arrows and shot it into the center of the Golem’s body, shooting directly through the thin layer that was still left between the open air and the core to directly shatter that core, causing the Golem to drop down.

And then, instead of working toward collecting the materials, they swiftly moved on to the next golem. After all, they could collect the materials when they took over the town and everything was a little bit safer.

"Alright, seems like it’s working." Eisen exclaimed as he pulled the arrow out of the wall, swiftly hurrying to give it back to Ranger, while everyone else also did their best.

Whenever Brody damaged a part of the Golems’ mana flow, he would place a Drill, but when he was momentarily out of drills, he would try and damage other parts of the golems’ bodies as much as he could, before waiting for others to arrive that could help destroy those parts as well.

Some of the group were basically completely unable to do anything major in this fight, just due to the sheer amount of people inside of the reltively narrow tunnel.

For example Kiron, he wouldn’t be able to safely swing his sword around in there, even if he would be great help against enemies like this.

But in the end, everone that could help a little bit ended up doing so to speed the process up, and before they knew it, they pushed through to the other end of the tunnel, before Fluke took the lead to show them where the King Golem was exactly.

They spent a few more hours just fighting different Golems inside of the town that became stronger and stronger the deeper into town they went, but just before the sun seemed to start going down, Fluke brought them to the center of the town to a large, cylindrical building with a dome-shaped roof. There didn’t seem to be anything else connected to it, really just that building, but what Eisen found interesting was that it was right where he saw the mass amount of energy that seemed to be the golem core before.

It seemed like the core was a little bit underneath the ground, but it was definitely the place, and there wasn’t too much of a distance to the core either if you stood directly above it. Either way, if this was where the King Golem was supposed to be, then they had to get inside of there. But before then, they needed to make a choice.

"Alright, who’s coming inside?" Eisen asked the group, because the room was probably once more limited to just six people, but it seemed like it didn’t take long to decide this time around, because everyone swiftly looked at Kiron.

"You want me to go inside with them?" The Half-Dragon asked surprised, looking over toward Fluke, "I figured he would come along... He was the one that showed us here, after all."

But in response, Fluke immediately shook his head and opened his eyes wide. "Are you crazy? I’m a Tinkerer, and nothing that I have is of any use against the King Golem." He replied before looking toward the five that seemed to go inside in any case.

"An Artist and a Crafter Going inside does also seem insane to me, though..." Fluke said with a wry smile, but Eisen immediately shook his head. "I have my five Golems, and they should be a lot of help as well." He pointed out before looking at Evalia, who crossed her arms with a nod. "And you can bet that I can pull my weight in there." She said with a smirk, so Fluke just scratched his cheek and nodded his head in response.

"Right, sorry..." He apologized, and Eisen chuckled and swiflty turned toward Kiron. "I mean, you’ll be a lot of help. Considering the size of your weapon, you’ll be a lot of help." Eisen pointed out, before Kiron slowly nodded his head in response, stepping up to the five Originals in front of him, before Eisen stepped up to the door at the front of the building, swiftly pushing it open.

They could already see the Giant Stone-Brick Golem in the center of the room, with its core just directly in the center of its chest, exposed to everyone.

"Alright, then let’s get inside, shall we?" Eisen asked with a smile on his face, taking the first step, followed by the four other Originals as well as Kiron, and when they were all inside, the door automatically shut behind them and the King Golem slowly stared moving, turning toward the intruders immediately while Eisen opened up the five boxes with his Golems inside.

"We probably won’t be able to speak to this one about everything, huh?" Eisen muttered with a wry smile, before stepping to the back of the room to make way for everyone to fight, while Evalia started to paint something in the air to cast a buff on the group, before pulling the guitar from her back and starting to play it.

"Now then! Let’s get started!" Brody exclaimed excitedly while he, Deedee, Tank and some of Jyuuk’s Monsters got started attacking it, while Ranger immediately tried shooting the King Golem’s core. And he did manage to do so immediately, but the core didn’t even form a crack.

"It really is pretty tough, huh..?" Eisen muttered to himself as he made Supp cast some buffs on his fellow golems, while making croco create a large-area restrainment spell. Xenia was just trying to shoot spells at it as much as she could, while Jyuuk couldn’t really help out at the moment due to the fact that his weapon was now a Scythe. He seemed to be able to use it really well usually, but in a fight like this, his weapon would just get dull way to quickly while not doing any real damage.

On the other hand, Kiron was doing a surprising amount of damage while he was working nearly perfectly in sync with Brody. The Demon-Orc would weaken an area, and Kiron would then swing his blade at that area to get rid of the rock as soon as possible.

For a while, the two of them just focused on the King Golem’s legs, and while the King Golem was able to get a few attacks against everyone in as well, due to its slow speed in anything and everything it was doing, everyone managed to dodge its attacks pretty easily.

And then, finally, the Golem Core started to crack, and everyone that could reach it, quickly attacked the area’s of the core with the cracks in it already.

And after a while, the core shattered, and the King Golem’s whole body fell to pieces. "Well then, this was pretty easy after all, huh..? I guess Eisen didn’t Jinx it after all." Jyuuk said with a relieved smile, but before he knew it, the old man looked at Jyuuk with a wry smile instead.

"Yeah... The fight isn’t over yet." Eisen said and started frowning, telling everyone to take a step back, and although they were confused they did trust in what the old man was saying.

"It was a layered Golem Core, we only shattered the outer layer. It was hard to see while everything was dropping down, but I can still see the core with my mana-sight." Eisen pointed out, and just when he was speaking about it, another core, somewhat smaller than the one from before, slowly rose into the air, being pushes up by a new mass of rock. But that new mass of rock wasn’t made up of the same stone-brick material as before, but something like a high-mineral type of rock, something like unprocessed metal-ore.

And out of that new material, a new King Golem formed itself. It was a few meters shorter than the original King Golem’s body, but this one seemed to be a lot tougher, and the Golem Core was covered in more areas as well.

And before everyone knew it, something else happened as well. The Stone-Bricks of the old King Golem’s body were starting to move as well and swiftly put themselves together into a smaller version, about half as tall, as the original King Golem, and the shards from the old Golem Core were seemingly moving to form the new Golem Core for that smaller King Golem.

"That’s bullshit!" Brody exclaimed with an annoyed frown, but Eisen just chuckled at him in response.

"Don’t worry, there’s more of them, but they probably aren’t as strong as the other one." Eisen pointed out, and before he knew it, the two new Golems started to move around, and did so a lot quicker than before. Especially the new ’Main Body’ did, but soon enough, after concentrating on the new ’Replication’ of the King Golem for a little while, they managed to take that one down first, and this time around it seemed to luckily stay down as well.

And then, after fighting the second phase of the main King Golem for a little longer, they managed to destroy that body as well, and then, that body crumbled as well. But once more, there was another Core inside of it.

Just like before, the smaller Golem Core was pushed up by a new material, this time by what seemed to be Iron, and the rest of the materials of the last phase came together around the rest of the destroyed Golem Core.

And after this one was destroyed came the next phase, and now the King Golem’s Main Body was shorter than Eisen in his current maximum size, and the ’Replication’ Golem was always half as tall as the King Golem of the phase before that.

After the current phase of the king golem was done, where it had a Golden body, it moved on to what seemed to be the last phase. The Golem Core itself. It just ’Folded’ open and turned humanoid on its own, and was the size of a comparatively tall human. But what was the issue here wasn’t the Golem’s size, but the fact that it was now incredibly fast, so fast that not many of the others could actually properly keep up with it.

But due to consistent efforts from everyone in the group, they managed to beat the ’Replication’ Gold King-Golem, and could then concentrate on the actual King Golem. Slowly, more and more cracks formed on its body, and after a long, tough fight, its body finally shattered into pieces.
