Godlike Player in a Game-Like World

Chapter 8 Stat Increase

Opening the title panel, Raydon spent one experience point to boost his stamina by one.

Raydon felt an incredible comforting energy fill his body as his stamina increased from 1 to 2. All the fatigue that had built up in his body as a result of stress and fights up until this point vanished in an instant. He could also feel his body toughening up.

\'\'Good. It appears that this stat also boosts my body\'s overall durability.\'\'

He breathed deeply while closing his eyes and enjoyed the feeling. \'\'This feeling is extremely intoxicating—it\'s unlike anything I\'ve ever experienced in a game. \'\'

He opened his eyes after some time, looked at the stat panel, and said. \'\'As I thought, more experience points are required for the next increase. \'\'

When Raydon saw the experience points needed to increase stamina by one more point, he thought it was completely natural. After all, if each stat increase required 1 experience point, he\'d probably declare his immortality soon.

With 20 experience points in total, Raydon decided there was no point in keeping them and instead used them all to increase his stamina.

2 exp. points.

4 exp. points

7 exp. points.

He spent a total of 14 experience points and gained 4 stamina.

While enjoying the pleasure of his body becoming stronger with each passing moment, he decided to check his status.

\'\'I have the stats of a level 2 item holder. I don\'t know what will happen in the future, but the fact that I can only increase my stamina at the moment puts me at a disadvantage. \'\'

Raydon frowned and pondered for a moment, then sighed and stood up, looking at the wolf he had just killed.

\'\'I can think about this problem later, now I have other problems like what to do with this body. \'\'

The body of the wolf he had killed earlier had already filled his dimensional storage. He also lacked the necessary tools to dismantle the wolves, so he had to come up with another solution.

He discovered two more sticks with the same qualities after killing the first wolf, but the ends were not sharp enough to be used as knives.

He also thought about tearing it to pieces with a sharp stone, but he didn\'t even know which parts were valuable, so that would take too much time and damage the materials he would obtain.

He even considered carrying it on his back, but even if he had the stamina, his strength wasn\'t enough.

As he thought with his hand on his chin, his brow furrowed with each passing second.

After much deliberation, he finally made a decision and sighed as he said. \'\'I guess I have no other choice. \'\'

And then, he grabbed the wolf\'s tail and started dragging it.

\'\' Nghh…I-I n-never leave my l-loot behind.\'\'

A solo player\'s mental illness manifested itself.

---

Raydon had been dragging the wolf through the forest at a turtle\'s pace and had gone quite some time without coming across another mob.

After circling around for a while, Raydon concluded that this wolf species either hunted alone or that the wolves he encountered had broken away from their pack. \'In fact, I\'m not sure if the social evolution of wolves in this world and mine followed the same principles.\'

As he moved forward, he noticed that his surroundings were becoming quieter. He continued cautiously and soon came to a small clearing with no trees and a small lake.

Raydon took a moment to survey the lake and its surroundings. The area was so peaceful and serene that it was a perfect place for a retiree to build a wooden house and live out the rest of his life in peace.

After looking around for a while, he saw tall vines growing not far from the lake. The vines looked like someone had taken them and thrown them there, but their roots were still attached to the ground.

\'\'This is just what I need. Suspicious-looking vines that will allow me to tie up my loot and carry it more easily. \'\' Raydon said with a chuckle.

He approached the vines, dragging the wolf\'s body behind him. The tension brought on by the silence was heightened by the wolf\'s friction noise and distant bird noises.

Raydon stood some distance from the vines. He tightened his grip on the wolf\'s tail and began spinning around. After a few spins, he decided that he had enough momentum with the wolf and released its tail. When Raydon released the wolf from his hold, it perfectly landed on the vines.

Following some time of observation and seeing nothing happen, Raydon said. \'\'In such cases, in movies and stories, this thing is supposed to attack anyone who gets too close to it.\'\' Raydon approached the vine with a disappointed look on his face.

A tiny opening appeared in the air, and he reached out and pulled one of the sticks he had earlier discovered. He had learned how to use dimensional storage more effectively during his time in the jungle.

He approached the vines, hardly separating the vine from its root with the stick he held. \'\'Like the stick, it seems to be quite sturdy.\'\'

Just as he was picking up the vines after rooting them, he noticed some bubbles beginning to form on the edge of the lake.

All of a sudden, Raydon\'s body started sending out warning signals. His instincts and senses, which he had developed over time, were urging him to leave where he was.

He leaped as far back as he could, and at that precise moment, something hideous leaped out of the water and headed straight for him.

In that brief moment, Raydon saw a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth in front of him, narrowly missing his chest by millimeters.

*BANG*

The creature was unable to stop and collided with a nearby tree, making a loud crashing noise. When Raydon\'s foot touched the ground again, he raised his guard and faced the creature to see what it looked like.
